A few weeks ago I came across this thing on Youtube where artists were buying a pack of 100 pantone postcards and using gouache or acrylic to paint on the colors as a challenge. Having missed out on May Sketch a Day this year, I've been noodling away at this series instead. Much like MSAD, I'm going into each painting without much idea of what i'm doing, trying not to spend much more than 2-3 hours on each, which is easy as they're about 4 x 4inches. Themes and styles are all up for grabs, usually something will spark off the colour or a bit of ref I have to hand. I've used both Satine Zillah's and Grafit Studio's ref packs in these pieces. Mostly gouache, with an occasional bit of ink or watercolour.
