Twining Tulips

It's said if you go far enough into the depths of the forest, following the rush of the river, you will eventually find their resting place. So great was their love, the forest goddess immortalised them in twisted bough and blooming flowers; some firelights in the dark, some forever unopened, their promise unknown.

Digital piece I've been noodling with for literally years, since it turned up as a tiny sketch in a random sketchbook and went through a couple of iterations, including the Brom knockoff WIP you see here! Ignore alll the anatomy on that one, don't know what the heck I was thinking. Very happy I stuck with it though, happy with how it turned out.

First iteration digital colour from probably 7-8 years ago - Brom wannabe and proof that studying anatomy pays off since this is so borked, anatomically.
