Smartschool AD Assignment: Diablo comic cover

During the last couple of weeks for my Smart School class (check out their tutor list, it's not cheap but it's worth every cent: www.smarterartschool.com) there were a number of AD tasks we could choose from. I went with the Diablo piece as I'd been playing the game and I love it's lore. Task was to choose a number of the narrative elements and combine them as we saw fit into a simple solution for the story. In my case, the hero, Jacob, staring into the maw of the mad barbarian, held aloft on the angel Tyrael's sword.

I've also included a number of wip shots, including traditionally done thumbs, digital lines and value prep, then a few steps in the traditional acrylic paint on board.
